Celebrating Over 25 Years!

2021 marked 25 years for Kemptville Physiotherapy Centre. We’re so grateful to have such an amazing team and the unbelievable support of our community. Without either we would have never gotten to this milestone!

Our story began in 1996. Carrie Smith opened Kemptville Physiotherapy Centre in the storage closet of the Kemptville Medical Centre. Carrie was a solo therapist at the time, working with enough space for two treatment areas and using the hallway for exercise!

The clinic quickly outgrew this small space and moved to their second location at 506 Rideau Street here in town. This location allowed Carrie to begin building her dream team! It was here that registered massage therapy was added to the list of services to compliment a fast growing physiotherapy clientele.

Not long after, Kemptville Physiotherapy Centre was ready to move again! It made it’s third move, to our current location at the Creekside Centre. In 2015, Carrie partnered with Dave & Nicole Hawken, two young Physiotherapists hoping to make the community their home. The clinic went through yet another expansion allowing for 4000 square feet of treatment space. This add-on allowed us to add some amazing people to our team and we are proud to say that we currently have 7 administrative staff, 10 physiotherapists and 3 massage therapists on staff.

Our focus has and always will be to provide the highest quality services in a safe and friendly atmosphere.

Meet Our Founder

Carrie graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a BSc of Science in Physical Therapy in London, Ontario. Originally from Georgetown, Carrie founded the clinic in 1996. Carrie has accomplished many things during her career as a Physiotherapist, some of the highlights include working with the Canadian Women's Olympic Hockey Team in 1998, going to World Cup with the Men’s National Rugby team in 2011 and spending many hours bandaging up local athletes along the way. Since retiring from the partnership, her passion remains in treating dogs through her animal rehab practice. When she’s away from work, you can find her on a travel adventure somewhere around the world. Fun fact about Carrie: she has ridden both an elephant and an ostrich!
